Troubleshooting Log-In Error for RISACalc

RISACalc is RISA's cloud based structural design software for single components. Are you having issues logging into RISACalc on your web browser? Try these steps below.

Step 1: Check your internet connection.

Step 2: Clear the site data for the internet browser's page.

1. Right click and select Inspect
2. In the options at the top, select Application
3. On the left menu, click Storage
4. Choose "clear site data"

Step 3: Complete a hard refresh (Shift+F5). You should be brought to the main log in screen of RISACalc.

Viewing column information graphically in RISAFloor

How to Use Spreadsheets More Effectively in RISA

RISA includes various advanced spreadsheet operations that make reviewing input and results easy. The features that we will focus on are available in the "Spreadsheet" tab located in the ribbon toolbar whenever a spreadsheet is open as well as by right-clicking in the table. P-Delta analysis is required in the AISC code, and it is something that you must specify on a per-load-combination basis. This is done by typing the letter Y in the P-Delta column of the Load Combinations spreadsheet. For those who aren’t familiar with the spreadsheet tools this can be a tedious task of typing the letter into every load combination. Instead, try doing this: click on the header of the P-Delta column to highlight the entire column in pink, click on the Block Fill button (the one on the right highlighted above) and have the program fill the block (group of currently selected cells) with the letter Y. Now let’s say that you’ve got a solution and you want to review your results, however you may have quite a few members to sort through. Enhanced "Move" Tools in RISAFoundation

RISAFoundation includes the added ability to move selected foundation elements. This includes beams, wall footings, piles, pedestals, slabs, etc. To access the move tools, click on the Modify tab in the toolbar. There are 3 primary ways to move elements: 1. Move by Global selection is a straight forward option that allows a user to move selected items by entering the exact movement increments in the X and Z directions. In the demonstration below, we entered “5” for the X direction. 2. Move by Point to Point selection allows a user to graphically move selected items by clicking from one point to another. As demonstrated below, the Move by Point to Point selection is used to move the footings and beams from Grids B and C to Grids C and D. 3. Move by Rotate selection is another self-explanatory option that allows a user to move selected items at a specified angle to the horizontal Z axis with an origin choice of Coordinates, Center of Selection, and Click to Locate. Demonstrated below, we again moved the selection so that the footing would now be rotate 90 degrees. This was achieved by entering an angle of “90” degrees and an origin…
