Wendi Garces is the Controller at RISA, bringing a wealth of experience from various industries, including travel, insurance, software, transit, and manufacturing. She even had a unique stint in Off-Road and IndyCar Racing, showcasing her adventurous spirit and adaptability. After earning her BS in Accounting and Finance from Eastern Connecticut State University, Wendi built a diverse career that ultimately led her to RISA, where she now leads the company’s accounting function.
In her role, Wendi thrives on working alongside the accounting team to ensure financial expectations and compliance are met. She enjoys the leadership aspect of her position, finding fulfillment in the strategic and collaborative elements of accounting. The ever-evolving nature of financial management keeps her engaged, making each day both exciting and rewarding.
To stay productive, Wendi relies on two key essentials—coffee and a good snack. While she hasn’t traveled as much as she’d like, she loves where she lives and finds joy in her surroundings. A fun fact about Wendi? She once sold, mounted, and balanced tires at the Laguna Seca Raceway during the IndyCar Series! Taking a break from accounting, she stepped into the sales department with her previous employer for an exciting (though short-lived) experience outside her typical role.
