Kody Poon is a Senior Software Engineer at RISA and has been with the company since June 2021, primarily working within our Web Products Development Team, to develop and deliver the RISA Customer Portal.
After receiving a BS in Computer Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, he worked for two years as a Software Engineer at a Big Four accounting firm. However, the stagnant technology there led him to seek out RISA’s modern tech stack.
In his role as a Software Engineer, Kody values problem solving and adaptability, key skills essential for his position. He enjoys the constant learning opportunities provided by the evolving tech scene and appreciates that, despite significant growth, RISA still maintains a close-knit, small company atmosphere where employees can move fast and have their input taken into consideration.
Outside of work, Kody is an avid golfer, often spending weekends perfecting his swing on the golf course. He also has a passion for culinary arts, especially barbecuing. Whether he’s hosting a summer BBQ for friends and family or experimenting with new recipes, Kody finds joy in creating delicious meals and bringing people together. His love for golf and BBQ not only provide a great work-life balance but also reflect his meticulous and creative nature.
